What data do we store

The purpose of the Sheela na gig website is publish information about Sheela na gig figures and other related medieval exhibitionist sculpture.

We do this via members of the public who contact us with figures they have found

If the information is relevant we would then put up a page on the figure and credit the person who provided the information by name.

We usually publish the names of people who contributed information and/or pictures to the website in order to assert copyright and give due credit. We will only ever do this with your permission. if you do not want us to publish your name please tell us. We regularly get requests for photographs of figures. We will pass on the contact details of the requestor to you once we have their permission to do so. We will never reveal your contact details to a third party unless the the request is a legal requirement.

If we publish your information we will retain your contact information in a strongly encrypted file and keep it until you tell us to delete it.

If you contact us via the website and your contact does not result us publishing information your contact details will be deleted after 6 months.

Website Logs

As part of our hosting package on GoDaddy they will collect web logs of visitor data which may include your ip address. These will usually be deleted within 2 to 3 days of creation. We do not keep a store of these logs but make occasionally download them to see how the website is doing. These will usually then be deleted immediately.
